“Schools for Earth” is a Greenpeace Germany-project supporting schools in their efforts to foster sustainability, to tackle the climate crisis and to contribute their share towards reaching the climate-goals of the Paris Agreement. The project offers a wide range of tools and materials including a CO2-calculator tailored to schools, tutorials to help schools identify potential spots for carbon mitigation inside and around their school-building, as well as many concrete ideas for carbon mitigation- and sustainability measures.
In addition, “Schools for Earth” offers educational materials about the climate crises for primary and secondary schools, trainings for teachers and a scheme to certify schools engaged in strong implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) by applying a Whole School Approach. The project is open to all schools in Germany, and all materials (available in German) can be downloaded or ordered as print copies free of charge.
