School performance deficits often become apparent shortly after starting school. In order to improve the situation of affected children and young people, it is important to recognise individual problems in everyday school life early and reliably. A variety of diagnostic test procedures are available for this purpose. This training series consists of three events on the areas of reading and/or spelling difficulties, maths difficulties and problems in social-emotional skills.
Structure of the training: Using the example of reading and/or spelling difficulties
How can I recognise whether a pupil has a reading, spelling or reading and spelling disorder?
What are the reasons and causes of reading and/or spelling difficulties?
When can we speak of a reading and/or spelling disorder and which academic achievements are (not) affected?
How is a reading and/or spelling disorder diagnosed?
What can teachers do?
What can parents do?
What support options are available (overview)?
You will first be taught the theoretical basics of diagnostics in the area of numeracy: What does competent numeracy mean? What is dyscalculia? What methods are available for diagnosing dyscalculia?
You will then be given an overview of the RZD 2-8, DEMAT series, ERT 4+, BASIS-MATH series and MARKO test procedures. Building on this, the specific application of the test procedures presented will be analysed using various case studies. This will provide you with a comparison of the most important advantages and disadvantages of the test procedures and how test results can be interpreted for possible intervention planning. You will also receive an outlook on relevant support programmes.
